Quality WHAT?
Vitis Rotundifolia! (Talk about a conversation starter! Quick! Try saying it fast three times! Isn't just resveratrol hard enough to say?)
Vitis rotundifolia is the Latin name for a "Muscadine" grape. Muscadine grapes (Vitis rotundifolia) are a grapevine species native to the present-day southeastern United States.
The muscadine berries range from bronze to dark purple to black in color when ripe. They have skin sufficiently tough that eating the raw fruit often involves biting a small hole in the skin to suck out the pulp inside. Muscadines are not only eaten fresh, but also are used in making wine, juice, and jelly.

Muscadine grapes are rich sources of polyphenols and other nutrients studied for their potential health benefits. Reports have indicated that muscadine grapes contain high concentrations of resveratrol — a polyphenol with reported beneficial health effects.
The combination of a Vitis rotundifolia extract combined with resveratrol has been shown to have 10-fold higher inhibition of AGE protein formation than resveratrol alone, as well as powerful synergistic antioxidant effects with resveratrol, as shown in several laboratory studies.
Our next criteria should be resveratrol. As pure of a resveratrol extract as you can get, using an extraction process without heat or chemicals!
Resveratrol is a polyphenolic compound found in grapes, red wine, purple grape juice, peanuts, and some berries.
Resveratrol has been shown to extend the life span of yeast and mice. In mouse and rat experiments, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, blood-sugar-lowering, chelating and other beneficial cardiovascular effects of resveratrol have been reported.
I have found a resveratrol supplement with 100 milligrams of over 98% pure, natural trans-resveratrol per serving. All other brands I've found provide less than 2 milligrams of trans-resveratrol per serving, far lower than research-tested levels by Dr. David Sinclair and many others.
The resveratrol supplement I take has been shown in laboratory studies to address three key mechanisms of cellular aging while the Vitis rotundifolia extract has been shown to address the four key mechanisms of cellular aging and is particularly effective at addressing the 4th mechanism (inhibition of AGE protein formation).
Many other resveratrol supplements contain an assortment of ingredients, including red wine, Muscadine grapes, grapevine, pomegranate, and grape seed. Although compounds in these ingredients are known to be beneficial at some levels, the actual amounts of these ingredients provided by the product are unknown.
In summary, the resveratrol supplement I take is a unique dietary supplement with a one-of-its-kind patent-pending blend of polyphenolic compounds that is not found in any other product on the market.
While there are other companies selling products with similar-sounding ingredients, laboratory studies have shown the ingredients of this resveratrol supplement to ensure greater polyphenol delivery and the ability to positively influence all four key mechanisms of cellular anti-aging. Without the Vitis rotundifolia extract, any resveratrol supplement will only address three of the four mechanisms of cellular aging. For my money, I wanted all four!
Most importantly, this formulation is based on sound science and guided by the latest scientific research.
I have been described as health nut. I don't fight it. I passionately believe in prevention and natural approaches to health and well being. I clean green, advocate organic foods, networking and mentoring others to health success.
This resveratrol supplement blog is an expression of all of the things I strongly believe in and much more. Lately I've been very interested in the anti-aging potential found in a naturally-derived resveratrol supplement ever since hearing about resveratrol in the recent news and scientific studies over the last few years.
Welcome to my world...
